Dingin Pagi

Pagi Nan Hening Di Lake Boga
Deruan Bayu Menyejuk Dada
Indahnya Alam Milik Yang Esa
Duduk Melihat Sambil Membara
Sesekali Kocakan Kawanan Angsana
Memecah Sepi Jiwa Yang Gelora
Lafasan Selawat Dan Zikir Cuma
Bisa Mengubat Hati Gundah Gulana.

Mr Mark

Mr Mark gave Pak Din two items to read yesterday. After reading both, I think I know Mr Mark much better now.

"I was a school teacher who also been self employed in tourism and group accommodation business," write Mr Mark in page 1 of his Open Letter to whom it may concern.

"In 2009 I had a school camp that were burnt in the Delburn and Churchill fires. I nearly lost my life protecting my property from the 2009 Black Saturday fires and 11 of my neighbours were part of the 173 people that died on that weekend."

No wonder he gave me that hard cover book "Beneath Dark Skies" to read. The book is a snapshot of thousand of stories on Black Saturday bush fires.

The book tells "A terrifying firestorms; miraculous survivals, heartache as homes, pets, stock and loved ones are lost forever; and selfless acts of courage and generosity. These are the stories of those who experience it first hand."

Mr Mark is the owner and operator of the motel complex where Pak Din and Mak Wan are staying now.

The motel also under court order over $39k payment dispute with previous owner and in danger of going to be taken away from Mr Mark.

Mr Mark has quite a unique character. He shows concern in lot of things. His "over concerns" really bugging everybody. He tell stories about his past and presents sometime repeatedly.

Mr Mark has separated from his wife of 21 yrs and his two daughters. It became court case under Family Law, which he feels really let him down. Hence he wrote the Open Letter to further highlight.

He lost almost everything to his wife in the dispute including $250k saving, family home, and parental right to his daughters.

Pak Din talk back to him in a gentle manner and try to understand him and the story behind. Looks like Mr Mark a bit at ease talking to Pak Din, which is good.

Hope our stay here will not be messed up with unnecessary stress and headache created by Mr Mark antics.

"I do not seek to turn this into 'Us and Them' debate but just want to highlight the bias that exists," explained Mr Mark in the letter.

Anyway Mr Mark is a very nice man. It is a pleasure for Pak Din to know him.

Nasi Goreng Kuning

Pagi ni Pak Din sarapan nasi goreng kuning. Juadah ni rasanya payah nak jumpa kat kedai. Syukur Alhamdulillah.

Lake Boga

Menarik juga Lake Boga ni. Saiz luas betul macam laut. Kawan2 dah siap memancing pagi ni. Umpan roti je. Dah sangkut 5 ekor, besar2 gak. Mak Wan tolong masak kari dua ekor & masak goreng garam kunyit selebihnya. Ni kira first time dpt ikan segar sepanjang Pak Din di OZ.

New Beginning

The new beginning for kembara Pak Din & Mak Wan have started. We have moved to Swan Hill, about 3 hrs drive from Rochester.

We safely arrived around 1:00pm yesterday. We stay at a unique little motel with full view of huge lake in front and surrounding by fields and farms in the backyard.

Mak Wan really likes the room. It is much bigger in size comparing to our cramp little caravan that we called home for the past 7 weeks.

It has attached bathroom, nice little kitchen with freezer, electric kettles and brand new electric stove for Mak Wan's cooking.

Mr Mark the owner as Pak Din observed is a very talkative and caring Australian guy who willing to go extra miles in meeting his customers need.

He is the sole owner of the motel complex and the only handyman who handle and manage the place. He looks tiring & stress sometime.

This morning after subuh prayer, Pak Din witnesses a majestic views of the surrounding area from our room which faces the lake across the street.

Thank you Allah for putting Pak Din & Mak Wan to experience all your creations in the land down under in this new phase of our lives.

Move On

Time to move on. After 7 weeks at Rochester, we feel its time to move on. Life is about choices right? We treat our stay as holiday. Hence we wanna to move on and see as much places possible at every opportunity. We wanna experience doing new things. Pak Din and Mak Wan choose to be positive in life. Exploring the new territory, the unknown. Business with pleasures. Doa for Pak Din & Mak Wan. Good bye Rochester.

Total Breakdown

"Hari ini kerja?" tanya Pak Din kpd Roy, org kanan Apex kontraktor. "Kerja," jawab Roy. So confirm kerja.

Luis memang selalu positif.

Di pendekkan cerita, kerja pembersihan ladang (kutip sampah) diteruskan buat kali ke-4.

Namun berbeza dgn beberapa hari lepas, jumlah sampah sisa2 plastik hitam cukup banyak.

Sekarang musim payah kerja.

Maklumlah dah dua minggu kami off 4 hari direct.

Masing2 jugak blur soal upah.

Luis cakap satu hekter bersamaan 2.5 ekar. Satu blok ladang Luis congak kira2 2.5 hekter.

Pak Din pun kira2 mamak, satu blok A$250 bahagi 20 org, dapat le A$12 seorang setiap blok. Hari ni siap 4 blok. Semalam siap 5 blok. So dapat le upah kira2 A$50 seorang sehari. Jadi le, ye tak?

Bersih Ladang

Alhamdulillah setelah 4 hari tiada kerja, hari ni ada kerja. Selama hari ni kerjanya petik buah tomato, tapi hari ni kerja baru.

Kat tapak ladang ni banyak mesin traktor pelbagai fungsi yg agak canggih.

Di OZ farmer is king. Ladang masing2 luasnya saujana mata memandang. Satu row pokok tomato boleh menghasilksn A$30k untuk satu musim. Cuba imagine ratusan row yg ada. Kaya giler.

Ramai tadi yg merungut sebab kerja macam tak mencabar minda. Namun Pak Din & Mak Wan bersyukur kerana masih ada kerja di kala orang lain yg kami kenal takde kerja.

Cuaca agak sejuk kerana windy. Nasib baik Pak Din pakai snow cap tadi, dapat cover telinga drp deruan angin sejuk. Esok pergi kerja pukul 6:30am. Sambung kerja sama di lot baru pula.

Ada kerja ada masyuk. Itu agak utama di OZ ini.
